Swim Deep

Swim Deep, an English indie pop band, was formed in 2011 in Birmingham by Austin Williams (vocals, guitar, keyboards, percussions), Tom Higgins (guitar, keyboards), and Wolfgang J. Harte (bass). In late 2012, they signed with Chess Club/RCA and released their debut single "King City". Their first album, Where the Heaven Are We, came out on August 5, 2013, receiving positive reviews including a Metacritic score of 72. The band's second album, Mothers, was released on October 2, 2015, and featured influences from acid house and techno, earning a Metacritic score of 79. Swim Deep toured extensively to support both albums, including a North American tour with The 1975 in December 2015. In June 2018, they announced their third album with a new lineup, Emerald Classics, which was released on October 4, 2019. The band - consisting since 2018 of Austin Williams, Cavan McCarthy (bass, keyboards), James Balmont (keyboards), Robbie Wood (guitar, keyboards) and Thomas Fiquet (drums) - recorded There's a Big Star Outside, released on June 7, 2024.
