Supersilent is a Norwegian avant-garde improvisational group formed in 1997 through a collaboration between the trio Veslefrekk and electronic artist Helge Sten. They debuted with the triple album 1-3 (1997), establishing a signature blend of jazz, noise, and electronic textures. The ensemble refined its sound on 4 (1998) and 5 (2001) before achieving significant critical success with 6 (2003), which won the Alarmprisen for best jazz album. Known for their numbered release titles and completely improvised performances, the group continued their prolific output with recordings such as 8 (2007), the percussion-heavy 9 (2009), and 10 (2010).
