Stryv

Stryv (real name Hamid Bashir) was born in Pakistan on February 2, 1998 and grew up in New York. He moved to the USA at the age of 2 and spent his youth in Queens, where he became self-taught in music production. As a teenager, he discovered electronic music and learned about social media, beats and tutorials. After studying at Binghamton University, he moved to Los Angeles to work professionally as a producer. Stryv mainly appears as a solo project. He has been working with various artists such as Kanye West, Ty Dolla $ign, Jason Derulo, Michael Bublé, CKay, Ava Max and Rita Ora since around 2023. His genre can be categorized as Afro-house or Afrobeats-inspired melodic house. His international breakthrough came in June 2024 with the single "Move " - a collaboration with Adam Port and Malachiii, released via the Berlin collective Keinemusik. The song reaches number 3 in the German charts (18 weeks), number 5 in Austria, number 1 in Switzerland and UK top 10 - a total of over 715 million streams by June 2025. A remix version with Camila Cabello follows in October 2024. The next single "Positions" with Adam Port and Malachiii follows in June 2024, released via Interscope Records. It is released on June 27 and marks the beginning of his solo work as Stryv.
