Rapper and producer SSIO was born Ssiawosch Sadat in Bonn on January 28, 1989. His music combines elements of 1990s hip-hop and West Coast G-funk and is characterized by his often exaggerated and self-deprecating lyrics. In 2012, he released his first mixtape on rapper Xatar's Alles oder Nix Records label. Special Material was immediately placed in the German charts. One year later, he released his first studio album BB.U.M.SS.N., which climbed to number 6 in Germany and was named "Release of the Year National" at the Hiphop.de Awards. Following the success of his debut, things became somewhat quieter for the humorous rapper, who only appeared in guest appearances with other artists. For example, in 2015 on the song "Chronik III" by Kollegah and Karate Andi. His final commercial breakthrough came with his number 1 album 0,9, which was awarded a gold record in Germany in 2016. The third album Messios (2019) included the hit song "Hash Hash", which reached number 8, SSIO's highest chart position for a single to date. The song also cracked the top 20 in Austria and Switzerland. Five years later, Das Neue Album is released. The first single release "TBC" made it to number 14 in Germany. As a feature guest on Farid Bang's "Popsmoke Dance", he achieved further success in the German singles charts in 2021. In the summer of 2025, the rapper returned with the single "Alles oder nix". The song climbs to number 3 in the charts in Germany and announces the album of the same name. It is released in October 2025 and climbs to the top of the charts in Germany and Switzerland. In Austria, the album reaches number 2.
