SoundFactory is a Swedish dance music project founded in the early 1990s by DJ Emil Hellman, active mainly between 1992 and 1995. The project is known for its fusion of vocal house, European dance and garage house, with club hits such as "Understand This Groove" (1992), "Good Time" (1993) and "2 the Rhythm" (1993). " Understand This Groove", one of their most iconic tracks, features a sample by Belgian artist Ulysses, and became an international club hit, notably in the UK and the USA (#58 on the Billboard Hot 100). SoundFactory is particularly associated with the Swedish label Stockholm Records, as well as international dance labels such as Champion and Strictly Rhythm, who have helped spread their sound to house and dance clubs worldwide. After a few years of activity, SoundFactory stopped producing new titles in the mid-1990s, while Emil Hellman pursued a career as a DJ and producer on the Scandinavian and international house scene.
