Sonido Caracol

Formed on May 6, 1995, Sonido Caracol is a prominent Uruguayan band renowned for blending cumbia with romantic and tropical rhythms. Their debut album, Todos Vuelven (1995), introduced their signature style, followed by Marcando el Camino (1996) and Lo Más Aclamado (1997), which solidified their presence in Uruguay's music scene. The 1999 release Inédito featured the standout track "El Candidato," while Quintaesencia (2000) and Convivencias (2001) showcased their evolving sound. In 2003, they released the live album Cuando Toca Caracol (En Vivo), capturing the energy of their performances. The 2005 albums Evocados and La Gente Se Vuelve Loca included hits like "El Borrachón" and "Temporal de Amor." With Toque de Primera (2008) and Causalidades (2007), featuring "Que Tiene la Noche," they continued to innovate. Their 2016 album Todos Vuelven revisited earlier successes, and Fiesta del Interior #3 (2021) reaffirmed their relevance. Subsequent singles such as "Una Vida Buena," "A Donde Fue Tu Amor," and "Cuando Toca Caracol" (2025) demonstrate their continued vitality in the music scene.
