South Korean rapper, songwriter, and performer Song Min-gi, better known by his stage name Mingi, was born on August 9, 1999, in Seoul, South Korea. He is signed under KQ Entertainment and is best known as a member of the boy group ATEEZ. Before his official debut, Mingi gained attention in 2017 as a contestant on the survival program MIXNINE, where he was eliminated in episode 7. He later debuted with ATEEZ on October 24, 2018, through the mini album Treasure EP.1 : All To Zero. Recognized for his deep rap tone, performance skills, and songwriting contributions, Mingi has participated in numerous ATEEZ releases throughout his career. In November 2020, Mingi temporarily halted activities due to psychological anxiety issues, though he continued contributing to recordings during his hiatus, including ATEEZâs Zero : Fever Part.2 and the song "The Real" for Kingdom: Legendary War. After approximately eight months of recovery, he officially returned to group activities in July 2021. In 2024, Mingi launched his self-produced âDesire Project,â showcasing his own musical compositions, and released his first solo LP Fix On/Off on August 9, 2024. His solo discography later expanded with the EPs Fix Off Desire Project 1 (2025) and Fix Off Desire Project : Origin (2026), alongside the digital single "Nova" (2026).
