Soler

Soler is a Macau-born rock duo composed of identical twins Julio and Dino Acconci, born on September 9, 1972, to an Italian father and a Karen (Myanmar) mother. Raised in Macau and educated in Italy, they began their musical journey in Europe in the mid‑1990s, signing with EMI Italy before returning to Macau and later breaking into the Hong Kong music scene in early 2005. Their unique fusion of folk-rock, soul and acoustic styles—performed in Cantonese, Mandarin, English and even Italian or Portuguese—quickly gained popularity. Their debut Hong Kong album Stereo (July 2005) was followed five months later by Intuition, earning them major awards and live appearances, including Shanghai’s Live Earth concert in July 2007. Known for electrifying live shows, they also worked with Paul Wong of Beyond, who co-wrote their Cantonese hit “Tsunami.” Despite their success, artistic and legal disputes with labels led to a 2012 bankruptcy declaration. Their discography spans Italian-language releases (Un Posto Per Noi, 1997), multiple Cantonese/Mandarin/English albums like X2 (2007) and Unplugged at Kafka (2008). In 2025, they came back with a brand new single "翻天覆地".
