Skizoo was formed in Madrid, Spain in 2005 by Jorge Escobedo, Antonio Bernardini, Morti, Daniel Criado and Dani Pérez, with Morti on vocals, Jorge Escobedo on guitar, Antonio Bernardini on guitar, Daniel Criado on bass and Dani Pérez on drums; the groupâs name derives from the Spanish word for schizophrenia. Their debut selfâtitled album Skizoo was released in 2005 on El Diablo and later reâissued by EMI in 2006, featuring singles such as "Renuncia al Sol", "Arriésgate" and "Habrá que olvidar", all of which reached Number 1 on national charts for several weeks; the reâissue included a collaboration with Enrique Bunbury on "No todo está perdido" and a cover of Héroes del Silencioâs "Entre dos tierras". In 2007 the band released Incerteza on EMI, the final album produced by Simon EcheverrÃa before his death, accompanied by a DVD with behindâtheâscenes footage; the same year they signed with EMI and expanded their international touring. After parting with EMI in 2008, Skizoo issued the independent album 3 through DFX Records, experimenting further with alternative metal while retaining their core sound, and later released La Cara oculta, a collection of rarities, demos and collaborations with artists such as Enrique Bunbury, Pepe Herrero, Belén Arjona and Shuarma. The group disbanded on 17 August 2009, announcing their final split on their website; Morti later formed Inmune in 2012, continuing a similar musical style.
