Skáld

Skáld, a French folk music group formed in 2018 by producer Christophe Voisin-Boisvinet, is known for blending Celtic and Nordic musical traditions. The initial lineup included Xavier Bertrand, Justine Galmiche, Pierrick Valence, and Fred Perchet, later replaced by Mattjö Haussy. Skáld's self-titled debut EP was released in August 2018, featuring three tracks including "Rún". Their first full-length album, Le Chant des Vikings, was published on January 25, 2019, under Decca Records and achieved significant success with over 80,000 sales and 100 million streams by 2021. The group embarked on extensive tours across France, including notable performances at La Cigale in Paris and the Hellfest festival. Their second album, Vikings Memories, was released on October 9, 2020. In January 2023, Skáld released their third album, Huldufólk. By 2023, Skáld had accumulated over half a billion streams and toured extensively in Europe and North America.
