Sinsaenum, a multinational blackened death metal supergroup formed in France in 2016, was founded by Frédéric Leclercq (guitar, keyboards, bass), who began composing death metal songs as early as 1998. He later collaborated with drummer Joey Jordison and guitarist Stéphane Buriez, who proposed the band name Sinsaenum—a modified portmanteau of "sin" and "insane". In 2016 Sean Zatorsky and Attila Csihar were added as dual lead vocalists, along with Heimoth on bass. The group released their self-titled EP Sinsaenum in June 2016 and their debut album, Echoes of the Tortured, that July followed by the EP Ashes in November 2017. Their second full-length album, Repulsion for Humanity, was issued in August 2018. After the death of Joey Jordison in 2021, the band recruted André Joyzi for the recording of the third full-length In Devastation (2025).
