Silver Pozzoli (real name: Silvio Pozzoli) was born on March 9, 1950 in Sassuolo, Emilia-Romagna. He is an Italian Italo disco singer who is considered one of the defining figures of the European dance-pop scene of the 1980s. From the end of the 1970s, Silver Pozzoli began working as a studio singer and took part in various pop and disco productions. In 1984, he launched his solo career under the name Silver Pozzoli, working closely with producers Stefano Pulga and Luciano Ninzatti, who were instrumental in shaping the typical Italo disco sound. Silver Pozzoli's international breakthrough came in 1985 with the single "Around My Dream", which reached number 1 in the German singles charts and placed in the top 10 in several European countries. The song developed into one of the best-known titles of the Italo disco genre. In the same year, the single "Step by Step" followed, which also reached high chart positions and consolidated their success. In 1986, the debut album Silver Pozzoli was released, which combined the successful singles and consistently continued the melodic, synthesized style. In the following years, Silver Pozzoli released further singles such as "Let Me Be Free" (1986) and "Love Is the Best" (1987), which were particularly popular in clubs and on European dance compilations.
