Shane Patrick Paul Roche, known as Shane Richie, was born on March 11, 1964, in Kensington, London, to Irish parents. He began his professional career as a bluecoat entertainer at Pontins holiday camp Little Canada on the Isle of Wight during adolescence and later transitioned into stand-up comedy. His first notable television appearances included the Sky TV chat show Jameson Tonight, the BBC One sketch show Up to Something!, and EastEnders in the role of Alfie. Shane Richie's music career began with the release of his first album, The Album, released in 1997. In 2003, he achieved chart success with a cover version of Wham!'s "I'm Your Man", reaching number 2 on the UK singles chart. Shane Richie continued to release albums, including Once Around the Sun in 2008 and his country music debut, A Country Soul, in 2017 under East West Records. Throughout his career, Shane Richie has also been active in musicals such as Grease and Scrooge: The Musical.
