Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet was a Canadian band formed in 1984 in Toronto. The group released several EPs, including Love Without Words (1985) and Wow Flutter Hiss '86 (1986), signing to Cargo Records. Their breakthrough came with "Having an Average Weekend", used as the theme for the television show, The Kids in the Hall. The band won the Juno Award for Instrumental Group of the Year in 1992. Notable albums include Dim the Lights, Chill the Ham (1991), and Sport Fishin' - The Lure of the Bait, the Luck of the Hook (1993). Internal disagreements led to their breakup in 1996, but they reunited in 2012 for the scheduled two concerts in Calgary and Toronto.
