Australian country singer Sara Storer was born in Wemen, Victoria, on October 6, 1973. She grew up on a farm and began writing songs inspired by the rural life and landscapes of the Australian outback, elements that would become central to her style. She came to prominence in 2000 with her debut album Chasing Buffalo, which won the ARIA Award for Best Country Album and marked the start of a career hailed for its authenticity. In 2002, she released Beautiful Circle, which won seven awards at the Country Music Awards of Australia (Golden Guitar Awards), including Female Artist of the Year. In 2005, Firefly consolidated her success, followed in 2007 by Silver Skies. From 2007 to 2009, she formed the Songbirds trio with Beccy Cole and Gina Jeffreys, whose concerts led to the release of the DVD, You've Got a Friend: Live in Concert. After the release of the compilation Calling Me Home - The Best of Sara Storer (2010), Sara Storer resumed her solo activity with Lovegrass (2013), a more personal and introspective album that earned her three new Golden Guitars awards. Her sixth studio album, Silos, was released in 2016 and won the ARIA Award for Best Country Album, followed by Raindance (2019), a continuation of her style, blending poetic ballads and chronicles of rural life. Returning after several years of silence, she released Worth Your Love in 2025. In all, Sara Storer has won 21 Golden Guitar Awards, a record for an Australian female country artist.
