Kirsty Lee Akers, born in Australia, is a country singer-songwriter. She began performing publicly at age three and recorded her first EP in 2006 at the age of 16. Akers won the Star Maker Award at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2007, leading to her debut studio album Little Things that same year under Compass Bros. In 2010, she released her third album Naked independently, which was nominated for three Golden Guitar Awards. Akers signed with Maven/Sony Music Australia in early 2015 and released Burn Baby Burn in April 2016. Her subsequent album Under My Skin, released in July 2018, peaked at number 29 on the ARIA Charts. In April 2022, she released her sixth studio album, Wild, under her own label, Rider Records, which debuted at number 11 on the ARIA Charts.
