Ronnie Bowman, born July 9, 1961 in Mount Airy, North Carolina, was an American singer and composer of bluegrass music. From a young age, Bowman sang gospel music with his family band. In 1987, he joined the bluegrass band The Lost and Found. From 1990 to 2001, Bowman was a vocalist and bass player for the Lonesome River Band, releasing several albums including Carrying the Tradition (1991), which won the International Bluegrass Music Association's Album of the Year award in 1991. His solo career began with Cold Virginia Night (1994). He continued to release albums such as The Man I'm Tryin' to Be (1998) and Starting Over (2002). Bowman passed away from a motorcycle accident in Nashville, Tennessee on March 22, 2026.
