Jann Browne

Jana Lynn Stebner, known professionally as Jann Browne, was born on March 14, 1954, in the United States. She is a country music singer who moved to Southern California in 1978 and began performing in Orange County country bars. From 1981 through 1983, she was a vocalist with the Western swing group Asleep at the Wheel before embarking on her solo career. Browne released her debut album Tell Me Why in 1990, which included her highest-charting single "Tell Me Why", peaking at number 18 on the Hot Country Songs chart. Her subsequent albums included It Only Hurts When I Laugh (1991) and Count Me In (1995). Browne was named Female Entertainer of the Year by the California Country Music Association and was nominated for Top New Female Vocalist at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 1990.
