Randy Stonehill

Randall Evan Stonehill (born on March 12, 1952, in Stockton, California) is an American singer‑songwriter and one of the pioneers of contemporary Christian music in the United States. After graduating from Leigh High School, he moved to Los Angeles and lived with rocker Larry Norman. Randy Stonehill’s debut, Born Twice (1971), was financed by Pat Boone and mixed live and studio recordings. In 1976 the Norman‑produced Welcome to Paradise was released, later named in a mid‑1980s critics’ poll as a significant contemporary Christian album. He followed with Equator (1983), Love Beyond Reason (1985), The Wild Frontier (1986), Can’t Buy a Miracle (1988), Return to Paradise (1989), Wonderama (1991), and Stories (1993). Randy Stonehill collaborated frequently with Daniel Amos, Phil Keaggy, and Margaret Becker and toured throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Over the next few decades, he continued to record and perform, releasing acclaimed Christian LPs such as Edge of the World (2002), Spirit Walk (2011), and Lost Art of Listening (2020).
