White Heart (also written as âWhiteheartâ) is an American contemporary Christian rock band formed in 1982 by Billy Smiley and Mark Gersmehl. Their debut White Heart (1982) was followed by Vital Signs (1984), which included the single âWe Are His Hands.â With the 1986 addition of lead vocalist Rick Florian, the group signed with Sparrow Records and released Donât Wait For The Movie (1986). Later, Freedom (1989) included tracks such as âThe River Will Flowâ and âBye Bye Babylon,â followed by Power House (1990), which featured âDesert Rose.â The group later released Redemption in 1997.
