Radwimps

Radwimps, a Japanese rock band originating from Kanagawa, Yokohama, was formed in 2001. The group initially consisted of five members who were friends since high school. Yōjirō Noda, the lead vocalist, became interested in music after listening to Oasis and began playing guitar. Radwimps' first concert took place at BB Street in Kannai on February 5, 2002. Their debut single "Moshi mo" was released in May 2003, followed by their self-titled album Radwimps in July of the same year. In March 2004, after a hiatus for exams, Radwimps returned with new members Satoshi Yamaguchi and Yusuke Takeda. Their second single "Kiseki" was released in July 2004, followed by their second album Radwimps 2: Hatten Tojō in March 2005. The band's third album, Radwimps 3: Mujintō ni Motte Ikiwasureta Ichimai, marked a shift towards more experimental music and was released in March 2006 under Toshiba EMI. Their fourth album, Radwimps 4: Okazu no Gohan, reached number five on the Oricon charts and included top 20 singles "Futarigoto" and "Yūshinron". In 2011, their sixth album Zettai Zetsumei was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of Japan. Radwimps gained significant recognition for composing the soundtracks for Makoto Shinkai's films Your Name. (released in December 2016) and Weathering With You (released in July 2019). Their collaboration with Shinkai continued with the soundtrack for Suzume, released in November 2022. In October 2025, they released the album Anew.
