Purple Disco Machine

The brainchild of Dresden-born German DJ Tino Piontek, Purple Disco Machine has been conquering dancefloors around the globe since 2009 with its infectious blend of funk, soul, and disco house music grooves. Besides being an accomplished producer, he has done remixes for several top-tier artists such as Gorillaz, Jamiroquai, and Fatboy Slim, and has played at some of the world’s finest clubs. Piontek’s love for music started through his father’s 70s and 80s funk record collection and by the time he was a teenager, he had already earned a DJ residency at a local club in Dresden. Thus, Purple Disco Machine was born. In 2013, the stars aligned for Piontek with the release of “My House,” a single that propelled him to international stardom and topped Beatport’s deep house chart. Following a couple of high-profile collaborations with Boris Dlugosch (“L.O.V.E.”) and Aeroplane (“Sambal”), PDM released Soulmatic (2017), his highly-anticipated studio debut. The album spawned the hit singles “Body Funk,” which stayed at the top of Beatport’s Disco chart for 5 consecutive months, and “Devil in Me,” a collaboration with Joe Killington and Duane Harden that received heavy radio airplay in countries like France, Germany, and Italy. More success ensued in 2018 with “Dished (Male Stripper),” which reached Number 1 on BBCR1’s Dance chart and spread through European dancefloors like wildfire. Piontek followed up with the 2-track Emotion EP (2019) and 2020’s “Hypnotized,” a sleek nu disco reverie that featured vocal contributions by UK indie band Sophie and the Giants.
