Pumarosa, a British electronic rock band formed in North London in 2014, was initially a duo consisting of Isabel Munoz-Newsome on vocals and guitar, and Nicholas Owen on drums. The group's name is derived from the colloquial term for rose apple fruits. In 2015, Pumarosa signed with Chess Club Records and released their debut single "Priestess," followed by "Cecile," and "Honey." Their first EP, Pumarosa, was released in September 2016. The band's debut album, The Witch, produced by Dan Carey, was released in May 2017 under Fiction Records. It peaked at number 72 on the UK Albums Chart and received widespread critical acclaim. In June 2018, Pumarosa performed at the Meltdown music festival curated by Robert Smith. Their second album, Devastation, produced by John Congleton, was released in November 2019 and peaked at number 91 on the UK Albums Chart.
