Formed by Scarlett Saad, originally from Jounieh in Lebanon, and her compatriot Kristian Abouanni, Police Voleur was born of the two artists' childhood memories. Akin to the Peter Pan syndrome, the band's name echoes the children's game of the same name in which the two members used to play, and reflects the kind of carefree spirit they wish to convey in their music. Leaning towards pop and Lebanese chanson, the duo launched with "Cache cache" (2020) and then "Oui " (2020), the first two tracks on which they sketched out their style. Their style gradually grew and asserted itself with each track, notably "Agoul Ahwak" (2021), before they released their first album the following year with 3a Gheir Mawje (2022). Over the course of its twelve tracks, Police Voleur develops its pop around sometimes melancholy, sometimes joyful stories, and offers a new version of its very first song, "Cache cache (remix)".
