Peverelist, the moniker of Tom Ford, stands as a pivotal figure in the UK's electronic music landscape, particularly within Bristol's vibrant scene. Emerging in the early 2000s, he has been instrumental in shaping the evolution of dubstep, techno, and UK bass music, both as a producer and as a curator of influential record labels. His journey began with a deep-rooted passion for vinyl culture and sound system traditions. In 2006, while managing the renowned Rooted Records store, he founded Punch Drunk Records. This label became a cornerstone for Bristol's burgeoning dubstep movement, releasing seminal tracks like his own "Roll With the Punches" and RSD's "Pretty Bright Light." Punch Drunk also served as a launchpad for artists such as Kahn, Guido, and Ekoplekz, reflecting Ford's commitment to nurturing local talent. In 2011, seeking to further explore the intersections of techno and UK bass, Peverelist co-founded Livity Sound alongside Kowton and Asusu. The label quickly gained acclaim for its innovative approach, characterised by intricate rhythms and a fusion of genres. Livity Sound's releases, including collaborations and solo works, have been pivotal in defining a new wave of UK electronic music. Peverelist's discography showcases his versatility and forward-thinking ethos. His debut album, Jarvik Mindstate (2009), offered a nuanced take on dubstep, infusing it with emotive melodies and complex structures. This was followed by Tessellations (2017), a project that delved deeper into techno territories while retaining his signature bass-heavy sound. After a brief hiatus from solo releases, he returned with the Pulse EP in 2023, reaffirming his position at the forefront of the genre. He has since released several other EPs in the Pulse series, including 2023's Pulse Modulation EP and 2025's Pulse Delay EP.
