DjRUM

DjRUM (pronounced "drum") is a British electronic music producer and DJ known for his innovative blend of dubstep, techno, and IDM influences. Emerging from the London underground scene, DjRUM (real name: Felix Manuel) has gained critical acclaim for his head-spinning sound, which fuses complex rhythms with atmospheric textures. He began his career in the late 2000s and quickly became a prominent figure in the UK’s bass music scene, releasing a series of EPs and singles on labels like 2nd Drop Records and R&S Records. His debut album, Seven Lies (2013), was met with widespread praise for dynamic production, combining elements of post-dubstep with intricate, jazz-inflected soundscapes. His sophomore album, Portrait with Firewood (2018)—which featured cellist Zosia Jagodzinska and vocalist Lola Empire—further established his ability to merge experimentalism with accessibility, earning critical acclaim from both fans and critics. As a DJ, DjRUM's sets are known for their technical expertise and boundary-pushing nature, often working with a three-deck setup. In 2024, he took his career up a notch with his critically acclaimed third album Meaning's Edge—released on Houndstooth—which brought tricksy IDM together with flutes from around the world. The following year, he released what many critics and electronic music fans hailed as one of the best albums of 2025: the jazz-brushed IDM odyssey Under Tangled Silence.
