Peter Criss

George Peter John Criscuola, known as Peter Criss, was born on December 20 1945 in Brooklyn, New York, and became a drummer. After early stints with local groups such as the Barracudas and Chelsea, he joined Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons in 1972, forming Kiss and adopting the Catman persona. His debut with Kiss came in 1974 on the self‑titled Kiss album, and he co‑wrote the hit "Beth", which peaked at Number 7 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1976. Peter Criss released his solo debut Peter Criss in 1978, followed by Out of Control (1980) and Let Me Rock You (1982). After departing Kiss in 1980, he pursued solo projects, touring sporadically until 2017. In 1995 he re‑joined the original lineup for a reunion tour, contributing to the 1998 album Psycho Circus. Peter Criss retired from touring in 2017 and continues to reside in New Jersey.
