Patrick Prins

Patrick Prins is a Dutch producer, DJ and composer active since the early 1990s, best known for his productions in the house, trance and techno genres, often marked by strong rhythmic energy and tribal influences. He has made a name for himself in European clubs under a variety of aliases and projects, adopting an eclectic and prolific approach that places him among the respected figures of the 1990s underground dance scene. He also set up a highly productive label, Movin' Melodies. His greatest commercial success came with "La Luna ", released in 1996 under the alias B.B.E. (with Bruno Sanchioni and Emmanuel Top), which reached the top of the European charts, particularly in the UK, thanks to its trance melody and emblematic atmospheric layers. He is also known for the Subliminal Cuts project, with the cult track "Le Voie Le Soleil " (1994), a classic of raves and progressive trance sets, often reissued or remixed. Other notable projects include The Ethics, Artemisia ("Bits and Pieces", 1994), WARP 9, Collision Sound System, The Human Nature, Eating Habits, Allium, Bed & Bondage, Chicks with Tricks (1994). Bondage, Chicks with Tricks, Ocean Motion, Sandman, The Peppermint Lounge, The Urban Sound of Amsterdam, Kubrick, Salvia, Castle Trancelott (the title track "Indoctrinate " and the 2019 album Joker's Up ) - each exploring a different facet of electronic music, from hypnotic techno to progressive house. Patrick Prins has distinguished himself through his innovative use of tribal loops, warm sonic textures and energetic arrangements, influencing the European trance scene while maintaining a notable media discretion. Despite a relative retreat from the mainstream scene in the 2000s, his name appears on a large number of remixes, notably for Sia, Daft Punk, Felix, Björk, Pet Shop Boys, Dua Lipa and Najwa Nimri. His flagship track "La Voie Le Soleil" has been brought up to date.
