Olive

Olive is an English trip hop group from London, formed in 1994 by Tim Kellett, Robin Taylor-Firth, and Ruth-Ann Boyle. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut single "You're Not Alone" in 1996, which reached Number 1 on the UK Singles Chart in 1997 after a remixed version was released. The group signed with RCA Records in September 1995 and released their first album Extra Virgin in May 1997, which included notable tracks such as "Miracle" and "Outlaw". Olive toured extensively to promote the album, performing on shows like Top of the Pops and was awarded the Best Dance Music award for "You're Not Alone" at the 1998 Ivor Novello Awards. In 2000, following Taylor-Firth's departure, Olive released their second album Trickle under Maverick Records. The album featured a more dance-oriented sound and included a cover of "I'm Not In Love" by 10cc, which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. Despite this success, Olive entered an extended hiatus shortly thereafter. Kellett focused on songwriting for other artists, while Boyle joined Enigma as a vocalist and released her solo album What About Us in June 2007. In 2009, Tinchy Stryder's cover of "You're Not Alone" sparked renewed interest in the group.
