MY FIRST STORY

Alternative J-Rock group My First Story was formed in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan in 2011. The band was founded by vocalist Hiroki Moriuchi, lead guitarist Shō Tsuchiya (on hiatus since 2015), guitarist Teruki Nishizawa, bassist Nobuaki Katō, and drummer Masaki Kojima (replaced in 2016 by Shōhei Sasaki). The group quickly caught the attention of Japanese rock fans when they released their self-titled debut album in 2012. The album climbed to Number 26 on the Japanese Albums chart and was quickly followed by 2013’s The Story is My Life, which reached Number 15. While those albums were released less than a year apart, fans had to wait a year and a half for the release of their third album, Kyogen Neurose (2014), which hit Number 14. The band’s popularity exploded when their next two albums – Antithese (2016) and S·S·S (2018) – both rose to Number 4 on the albums chart. In between those hit albums, the band fitted in several mini-albums and The Premium Symphony (2018), which found My First Story backed by a full orchestra. In 2020, the group released V, which rose to Number 2, making it their most successful album to date. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, My First Story released the album X, which reached Number 6 on the chart.
