Million Dead are a seminal UK post‑hardcore band from London, originally active from 2000 to 2005, and having reunited for 2025 festival dates. Formed in late 2000 by Australian guitarist Cameron Dean and bassist Julia Ruzicka, who had relocated to London, they were joined by Ben Dawson (drums), formerly of Kneejerk, and Frank Turner (vocals)—also from Kneejerk—finalising the lineup by early 2001. They recorded their debut demo in 2001 and the following year signed to Integrity/Xtra Mile, releasing their debut single, “Smiling at Strangers on Train", in 2003. Their debut album, A Song to Ruin, came out in 2003 and featured sharp political lyrics and an aggressive post-hardcore sound. In 2004, Cameron Dean departed and was replaced by Tom Fowler. In May, they released their second album Harmony No Harmony before disbanding following a farewell tour. The band reunited for live shows in 2025.
