Michele McLaughlin, born in 1974 in the United States of America, is a self-taught pianist and composer known for her contributions to contemporary music. Inspired by George Winston's performance at age eight, she began composing her own pieces after learning his tunes by ear. McLaughlin released her debut album Beginnings in 2000. Notable albums include Christmas - Plain & Simple (2006), Dedication (2007), and A Celtic Dream (2008). She achieved significant chart success with Undercurrent, reaching number 5 on the New Age Albums Billboard charts in March 2015, and with Life, reaching number 7 in March 2017. McLaughlin has been nominated for various awards, including Album of the Year at the 2013 Whisperings Solo Piano Radio Awards. She tours extensively throughout the USA and performs regularly in her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah.
