Fariborz Lachini

Fariborz Lachini, born August 25, 1949, in Tehran, Iran, is an Iranian film score composer and pianist. In his twenties, he achieved success in pop music before the Islamic Revolution. Following the revolution, he moved to France to study musicology at the Université de Paris - Sorbonne. His first solo piano album, Golden Autumn 1, was released in 1989 and became popular in Iran. He composed for over a hundred film projects, including the Oscar-nominated film Requiem of Snow in 2005. His work on films like Snake Fang in 1990 earned critical acclaim for blending traditional and electronic music.
