Megumi Ogata, born 緒方恵美 on June 6, 1965, in the Greater Tokyo Area, Japan, is a Japanese actress and singer. She began her career as a musical actress, attending classes alongside Rumi Kasahara and Shiho Niiyama. Her initial breakthrough in music came with the release of her first EP HALF MOON in 1994. Ogata's discography includes numerous albums such as Marine Legend, released in 1995, and 多重人格 multipheno, released in 1996. Notable singles include "天気雨が降った日" (1996) and "タイム・リープ" (1997). She is also known for her work as a voice actress, notably voicing Shinji Ikari in Neon Genesis Evangelion and Yugi Mutou/Dark Yugi in the Toei version of Yu-Gi-Oh!. Ogata's husky voice has led to typecasting roles such as Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon, where she portrayed a charming tomboy. Her album releases continued with Gingani Hoero! in 1997, Mo in 1998, and Runner in 1999. Ogata's voice acting roles have spanned various popular anime series and films, including YuYu Hakusho, where she voiced Kurama, and Cardcaptor Sakura, where she portrayed Yukito Tsukishiro and Yue. Her later albums include stop,and Go→ (2003), 鏡の国のアリス (2004), and ヨアケノジカン。 (2006). Ogata's versatility extends to her filmography, which includes appearances in various anime films and video games. Her notable film roles include Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death & Rebirth (1997) and its sequels, as well as Jujutsu Kaisen 0 (2021).
