Mc Negão Original

MC Negão Original (real name João Vitor Ribeiro Marcelino Guido) emerged from São Paulo’s tough East Zone, where he was drawn into crime early but later found faith as a pastor before embracing funk as his true calling. His musical journey accelerated when he asked his manager for just R$400 to leave behind criminal life, funding his first funk recordings. In 2024, he released his debut album Espaço de Voz, laying the foundation for his sound; by March 2025, his follow-up project A Nata de Tudo – A Ovelha Negra skyrocketed to Number 1 on the streaming Global Debut Albums chart, proving his powerful street narratives resonate internationally. That same year, he dropped Vizinhança do Bigode, described as a cinematic exploration of São Paulo’s periphery, featuring collaborations with MC Ryan SP, MC Kelvinho, Vulgo FK, and MC Joãozinho VT. Supported by visual storytelling rooted in favela life and production from DJ Guh Mix and Caio Passos, his songs like “Big Shein,” “Juliana,” and “Medley de Igaratá 6” have become playlists favorites. As one of Brazil’s most-streamed funk figures in 2025, MC Negão Original redefined funk’s voice from São Paulo’s margins.
