Matt Stillwell, born in Sylva, North Carolina, is an American country music artist and composer. During his college years at Western Carolina University, Stillwell was a standout baseball player before choosing to pursue music over athletics. His debut single "Shine" was released in late 2008 and peaked at number 52 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. This led to the release of his third album Shine Deluxe in the same year. Stillwell's subsequent album, Right on Time, was released in 2014, with the single "Ignition" reaching number 52 on the same chart in 2012. In 2015, he released "Hey Dad", a song about the loss of his father, which reached number 35 on the Billboard Activator Chart in 2021.
