Matt Nathanson

Matthew Adam Nathanson, born on March 28, 1973, in Lexington, Massachusetts, is an American singer-songwriter known for his blend of folk and rock music. He attended Pitzer College in Claremont, California, where he majored in English and World Literature. His musical journey began with the release of his debut album Please in July 1993, which included songs written during his high school and college years. His career progressed with the release of several albums, including Ernst (February 1997), Not Colored Too Perfect (April 1998), and Still Waiting for Spring (March 1999). His breakthrough came with the platinum-selling song "Come On Get Higher" from his album Beneath These Fireworks, released in October 2003. His music has been featured on various television shows, including NCIS, Scrubs, and The Bachelor. Notable songs like "All We Are", "Mission Bells", and "Giants" have gained significant attention, with "Giants" serving as the opening music for the 2016 World Series of Poker on ESPN. He has collaborated with various artists and bands, including Kelly Clarkson and Little Big Town. His album Some Mad Hope (August 2007) featured the song "All We Are", which was used in multiple TV episodes. Matthew Adam Nathanson's cover of "Laid" by James appeared on the soundtrack for American Wedding, and he has released several cover albums, including Pyromattia (2018), featuring Def Leppard covers and Achtung Matty (2021), a recreation of U2's Achtung Baby.
