Marla

Originally from Yopougon, a district of Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire, Marla emerged as a member of the Collectif Rap Group, a group of the country's new talents. With "Akpi", a single released in 2022 alongside Tripa Gninnin and Tchaikabo, Marla made her mark on the Côte d'Ivoire rap scene. On a production by Sly on the Beat that oscillated between trap and drill, the still high-school rapper made her mark with a sharp, precise flow that was part of a renewal of the Ivorian rap scene, which saw the arrival of more female artists. Launched by a track that went viral, Marla followed this up in 2023 with "Frappe", produced in the company of female rappers Andy S, Mosty and Dre-A. This new success heralded Freestyle, a four-track debut EP that put Marla firmly on the Ivorian music map as the new face of the country's youth. Destined to make a name for herself, the rapper collaborated a few months later with Dofy and Jiro on the track "Gbonhi " (2023), which once again won over the public. In 2024, she released NAISSANCE, her first album, featuring numerous collaborations with the Ivory Coast rap scene.
