Margot Hellwig, born on July 5, 1941, in Reit im Winkl, Germany, is a German singer. After her father's death during World War II, she was raised by her mother Maria Neumaier and later stepfather Addi Hellwig. She began her musical training with Elisabeth Hallstein and Franz Reuter-Wolf. In 1963, Margot Hellwig released her first recording with her mother, "Feierabendjodler", marking the start of their duo career. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Maria and Margot Hellwig toured extensively across Europe and America. Margot Hellwig began her solo career in 1989. Notable albums include Das Ave Maria der Jahrezeiten (2009) and Zauberland der Musik (2011). In 2015, she retired from performing due to her husband's health issues, concluding her career with a performance of "Sag beim Abschied leise Servus" alongside Florian Silbereisen.
