Die Ladiner

Die Ladiner, a South Tyrolean music group, was formed in 1996 by brothers Joakin Stuffer and Rafael Stucker. The duo originated from South Tyrol, where they primarily spoke the ladinische language. Their name is derived from this linguistic heritage. Initially, their brother Reinhardt contributed to some of their songs. In 2002, Die Ladiner released their debut album Allein in Einsamkeit. The following year, Otto Demetz joined the group replacing Rafael Stucker. Joakin Stuffer's daughter Nicol also performed with them on several occasions. Die Ladiner gained significant recognition by winning the Grand Prix der Volksmusik 2004 with "Beuge Dich vor grauem Haar" and were nominated for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award in 2003 as Best Newcomer of the Year. They have released numerous albums, including Winter und Weihnachtslieder (2003) and Erinnerung an Mama (2004). The group frequently performs in Germany and hosts a folk music festival annually in their home region of Gröden.
