Latin pop singer Luis Miguel was once dubbed the Latin Frank Sinatra and with over 100 million record sales to his credit is considered to be the most successful artist in the history of Latin American music. He has a wide ranging musical style and is as comfortable singing rock or pop as he is the more traditional genres such as bolero or mariachi. Miguel's career is littered with industry accolades and outstanding achievements such as his 1999 - 2000 tour which grossed $950 million performing to 1.5 million people, his album 'Accomplices' which sold 320,000 copies in a single day and the numerous Grammy Awards, the first of which he won when he was just 14 years old. As well as being immensely popular with Latin audiences in 1991 Miguel released 'Romance', a compilation of bolero classics which went on to sell 15 million copies and establish him as an international star capable of appealing to audiences across a wide spectrum. Despite his success worldwide Miguel is notoriously reclusive in his private life, rarely giving interviews and surrounding himself with a team of security staff.
