LP

A native of Long Island, New York, where she was born on March 18, 1981, Laura Pergolizzi moved to the Big Apple right after finishing school, with the ambition of breaking into the music world using her initials as her stage name. While performing at numerous clubs, she met David Lowery, a member of the alternative rock band Cracker, who immediately invited her to contribute to his album Gentleman’s Blues (1998) on the track “Cinderella”. At the same time, he offered to produce her debut album, Heart-Shared Scar (2001). Her next album, Suburban Sprawl & Alcohol (2004), featured a collaboration with Linda Perry, the former lead singer of 4 Non Blondes who had become a producer and songwriter. After signing a new recording contract with a major label—which she later terminated in favor of an independent label—LP devoted herself to writing songs for other artists before returning under her own name with the EP Into the Wild: Live at EastWest Studios (2012), which preceded the album Forever for Now (2014), released by Warner Bros. At the end of 2016, her fourth album Lost on You, preceded by the EP Death Valley, achieved international success following the release of the single “Lost on You,” which charted across Europe (No. 1 in France and Belgium). In 2018, she collaborated with Mylène Farmer on the track “N’oublie pas”, followed later that year by the release of the album Heart to Mouth, whose success—driven by the track “Girls Go Wild”—was concentrated in Europe. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Live in Moscow (2020) was released, preceding the late 2021 release of Churches, produced by Mike Del Rio, among others. Following the track “Fighter”, produced with Kazakhstani producer Imanbek, and a collaboration with the Canadian band Palaye Royale, her seventh studio album, Love Lines, was released in 2023, preceded by the single “Golden”. In 2024, the Love Lines tour continued in Europe and the United Kingdom. LP then collaborated with the electronic trio Cheat Codes on “Human” in 2025. In 2026, the singles “Shelly”, “Love Is All I Have”, “Best In Life”, and “Mi Corazón” paved the way for Room 12, her eighth studio album.
