Born in Purapel, Constitución, in Chile’s Maule region around 2004, Los Diamantes de Purapel were founded by brothers Aníbal (vocals/guitar) and Waldo Núñez (accordion/second voice), later joined by Felipe Núñez (MC/animator), Robinson Bravo (keyboards), and Luis Fierro (drums, percussion), establishing the band as a respected cumbia ranchera ensemble. They gained national recognition through hit tracks like “Besando Borrachos,” “Ya Viene Amaneciendo,” and “Enseñame a Olvidar” on albums such as Vivencias (2015), Eres la Ilusión de Mi Vida (2019), and Nuestra Música Suena Más Fuerte Que Tus Problemas (2019), all supported by nationwide tours and appearances on radio charts. In early 2025, their collaboration with rising singer Kevinciito_LKLF on the song “Me Recordarás” exploded online—its official video and clips reached hundreds of thousands while the single climbed Chilean digital playlists and DJ sets nationwide. Bolstered by television performances and live festival appearances, they have reaffirmed their status as pillar figures in Chile’s cumbia ranchera revival, embracing both tradition and modern virality to cement their lasting influence.
