Los Diablos

Los Diablos, a Spanish pop group formed in 1968 in Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, began as Los Diablillos del Rock before adopting their final name under the insistence of lead vocalist Agustín Ramírez. The duo of Agustín Ramírez and guitarist Enrique Marín expanded to a quartet with drummer Emilio Sancho and bassist Amado Jaén, and they recorded early hits such as "Gracias al amor" and "Brutal". Their breakthrough came with the single "Un rayo de sol" in 1970, which sold 450,000 copies and earned a gold disc, catapulting the band to national prominence. Throughout the early 1970s Los Diablos released a string of successful singles-including "Niña de Papá", "En Tí Lo Encontré", "Talismán", and "Fin de Semana"-and albums Un rayo de sol (1969), Oh Diablos (1970), and Los Diablos (1972, 1973). The group disbanded in 1978 but reappeared in 1982, later collaborating with Fórmula V from 1996 to 2001 under the project Formula Diablos, producing the compilation Fórmula Diablos. grandes éxitos 1967‑1978. In 2003 the greatest‑hits collection Grandes Éxitos was released, and the 2005 single "Acalorado" saw renewed airplay. Los Diablos’ legacy is marked by sustained chart success and cultural recognition, including the naming of a public garden after the group in 2023 by Hospitalet de Llobregat.
