Living Legends

Living Legends is an American hip hop supergroup from California, formed in 1996. The group initially consisted of indie hip hop artists BFAP and PSC, who later became known as Sunspot Jonz and Luckyiam respectively. They began their career by selling tapes independently and hosting shows in East Oakland. By the late 1990s, Living Legends had expanded to include Eligh, Scarub, Murs, Bicasso, Aesop, and Arata. Their debut album The Underworld was released in 2000, followed by Angelz Wit Dirty Faces. The group's independent success continued with albums such as Almost Famous (2001), Creative Differences (2004), and Classic (2005), the latter including Brian Eno's "By This River" sample on "Never Fallin'", produced by DJ Khalil. In May 2012, Murs left the group, and in June of that year, The Grouch announced a hiatus. Despite these changes, Living Legends reunited in 2016 for regional tours. Notable releases include The Return in 2023. Many compilations were also issued since the late 1990s. Member Aesop the Black Wolf died in August 2025.
