Lenier, born Álvaro Lenier Mesa on September 6, 1989, in Güines, Cuba, is a Cuban singer, songwriter, and rapper known for blending Latin pop, reggaeton, tropical music, and ballads. After moving to Miami at age 15, he began his career performing traditional Cuban music before shifting to urban sounds. His breakthrough came in 2018 with "Te Toqué Sin Querer" alongside Diana Fuentes, followed by "Me Extrañarás" with Álvaro Torres in 2019, both earning millions of views on his channel. That same year, he released his debut album Melisma, featuring collaborations with El Micha, Álvaro Torres, Diana Fuentes, and El Chulo. In 2020, after signing with Pitbull's label Mr. 305 Inc., Lenier released "Cómo Te Pago", which became his most successful single, reaching over 90 million views and earning a platinum certification. In 2022, he won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Song. Lenier continued expanding his international profile in 2023 by collaborating with 6ix9ine on multiple tracks for the album Leyenda Viva, including "Bori", "Dueño", "Papa", and "Wapae". 2024 saw the release of the LP Blanco y Negro, featuring contributions from Gente de Zona, Reykon, Brray, Tito el Bambino, Pitbull, and many more.
