La Borrachita

La Borrachita is an Argentine cumbia act that emerged in the 2012 as a Santa Fe–linked, dancefloor-oriented project fronted by singer Juan José Piedrabuena (Juanjo), who had previously spent several years as the voice of Grupo Alegría before launching this new band identity for the tropical circuit. The group’s first major statement arrived with the album Te Quiero Borrachita (2012), released through the Colo Music orbit and promoted with high-rotation cuts like “Te Quiero Borrachita” and “Carla,” with “Carla” becoming the signature track that most strongly defined the name La Borrachita on streaming and DJ sets. Built around the “cumbia santafesina” live-party formula—tight keyboard lines, quick melodic hooks, and lyrics designed for singalongs—the record also established other set staples such as “Dile” and “Te Amaré,” helping the band land regular exposure on Argentina’s bailanta ecosystem. After consolidating that debut era, La Borrachita returned with the album Ay Vamos (2015), a 10-track release that kept the focus on club-ready romantic themes and included songs that later surfaced among the act’s best-known streaming titles, such as “Hoy Te Ví,” “Nada Quedará,” and “Tu Sin Mí - Te Amo.” Later in 2015, the project extended its catalog with the singles “Me Volví a Enamorar” with “Tú Me Estas Enamorando” and effectively closing the band’s core release run.
