Nico Mattioli

Born on May 1, 1993, in Santa Fe, Argentina, Nicolás Exequiel Mattioli—known artistically as Nico Mattioli—began his musical journey at age seven, playing güiro in his father Leo Mattioli’s band. By 2005, he had formed his own group and launched a solo career that blended romantic cumbia with heartfelt storytelling. His early albums, including Una Carta al Cielo (2012) and Yo Soy Tu Sangre... Mi Viejo (2013), featured tributes to his father, such as "Con Cariño Papá" and "Me Hace Doler el Pecho." In 2019, he released Nuevas Historias and Positivo, followed by Herencia in 2021, which earned him the Gardel Award for Best Tropical Artist Album. His 2022 album Caminos de Amor continued to showcase his signature romantic style. In 2024, he released a series of singles, including "Mi Historia Entre Tus Dedos," "Conmigo Te Gustó," and "Tú Le Robaste," and collaborated with artists like 18 Kilates and La Banda de Carlitos. That same year, he honored his father's legacy with the live album Homenaje al León – Sin Miedo Session #42. Despite facing legal issues in late 2024, Nico Mattioli remains a prominent figure in Argentine cumbia.
