Krypteria

Krypteria is a German rock and metal band that was founded in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, in 2001. The group developed out of a musical studio project and established itself as an independent formation with a focus on symphonic metal, gothic metal and melodic rock from 2003/2004. The classical elements, dramatic arrangements and powerful vocals characterize the band's sound and gain them an international fan base. The core line-up of Krypteria consists of Ji-In Cho (vocals), Chris Siemons (guitar), Frank Stumvoll (bass) and S.C. Kuschnerus (drums). The band combines powerful guitar riffs with symphonic interludes and polyphonic choirs, giving them a recognizable style in the melodic metal genre. 2003 sees the first release Krypteria, followed by the single "Liberatio", which reaches number 3 in the German single charts in December 2004 and is a charity song for tsunami victims. The studio album In Medias Res, the first album with frontwoman Ji-In Cho, followed in 2005. In 2007, Krypteria released Bloodangel's Cry, an album that combined classic metal elements with a bombastic gothic sound and achieved chart positions in Germany and Switzerland. In 2009, the band released My Fatal Kiss, which showed the group's stylistic development and musical maturity. All Beauty Must Die followed in 2011, reaching number 24 in the German album charts, making it one of the band's most successful longplayers. In addition to their albums, Krypteria released several singles, including "Liberatio" (2004), "Victoriam Speramus" (2005), "Ignition" (2009) and "You Killed Me" (2011). In 2011, the band also wrote the "BVB Meisterhymne 2011" together with the BVB Jahrhundertchor, which also made it into the charts. After a break from 2012, the group later reformed under the name And Then She Came and continued to perform. In 2025, the band returned to their original name Krypteria and released the single "A New Dawn", which marked the band's comeback.
