Kick Axe

Kick Axe, a Canadian hard rock / heavy metal band from Regina, Saskatchewan, was formed in 1974 by Larry Gillstrom, Victor Langen, and Gary Langen. Initially known as Hobbit, they changed their name to Kick Axe in 1976. The band's breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Vices in 1984, which reached Number 126 on the Billboard 200 chart. Notable singles include "On the Road to Rock" and "With a Little Help from My Friends". Following the release of Rock the World in 1986, Kick Axe disbanded in 1988. The band reformed in 2002 with Gary Langen on vocals, releasing Kick Axe IV in 2004. In 2023, they released new singles "Blackout Crazy" and "Run to the Thunder", followed by an upcoming album scheduled for early 2024. On August 11, 2025, it was announced that founding member Larry Gillstrom had died at the age of 70.
